“Guess what?……..I’m going on holiday!!” This is the line I have been singing in my children’s ears for the last few weeks as the excitement of going away takes over me! Why so excited you ask? It’s just a holiday. Wrong, it’s not just a holiday…..it’s my first 10 night holiday child free! Yes you read that right, I did say child free. Don’t get me wrong, I love my children immensely they are my world and I love our family holidays together, but to have a holiday just the Mr & I without our children is going to be a beautiful experience & only one you can fully understand when you’re a parent yourself.
That feeling of being able to put yourselves first for once and do whatever you want, lets just say it’s going to be a huge privilege & one we will really appreciate. As parents your children always come first and if you’re working parents it’s very hard to get some quality alone time, which everyone needs. Relationships are never easy and when you have a family, that can add strain. So it’s extremely important to keep your relationship alive & make time for one another. A great example of this is by having date nights, this is a perfect way to have some alone time and keep the flame alight.
We are blessed to be able to take it one step further and go away together for a long period. I am so lucky to have an amazing mum who is able to have our children whilst we take a break, especially as my mum hasn’t been too well herself recently, she’s been through the mill to say the least but that’s another story.
Being that we’re travelling on our own it was time to make the most of this experience and indulge a little, treat ourselves, why not aye, not sure when this is going to happen again, especially whilst the children are under the age of 18. With that in mind, it was time to travel a little different. So I booked the No.1 Premium Lounge at Gatwick. Well let me tell you it was sheer brilliance from beginning to end! After completing the bag drop at check-in I went to ‘Premium Gatwick by Invitation only’ – this was like a VIP entry into Departures. It’s a smaller version of the Secruity search area you go through to get into the Departure Lounge only minus the hussle & bustle and ever lasting queues. I was through to departures in two minutes! Unbelievable when you compare it to the main search area! That alone would make me want to book the No.1 Lounge again.
Passing through security was a blast, now time see what the Lounge was about.
Well well well what have we here, a Lounge full of different areas. It had a main Lounge area, Bar, Dining area, Library, Cinema room, Games room, a play room for smaller children, Spa and Salon! Absolute brilliance – It’s clearly not called No.1 Lounge for nothing! It didn’t feel like I was in the airport whatsoever, a great way to have a relaxing wait before a flight. Within the lounge you can order food and drinks all complimentary with the exception of Champagne, I could definitely get use to travelling like this. Even down to the seating was spot on; I spent my time in a floating hammock chair after helping my self to tea, croissants and strawberry jam. I then ordered a bacon roll with ketchup, time to full my belly before I take on that long flight to Jamaica 😆
The time ran so quick being in the Lounge, before I knew it the screens were showing boarding, I couldn’t believe it was already time to go to the gate. With that I headed to the ladies before leaving; even the toilets were lovely, felt like I was back in the Bellagio in Vegas! Time to quickly freshen up and off to the gate I go.
If you are travelling from Gatwick I would definitely recommend you book the No.1 Lounge there isn’t a better way to ease your travelling experience. I have linked it here No.1 Lounge check it out.
Stay cool, stay safe, stay blessed & most of all stay being you!
Love your girl,
First Lady Randz 💋
