Current Affairs

Watching the news is so depressing! From brutal murders to terrorists attacks. Where is safe? If you want a holiday where do you go?

One thing I will say, is you can’t let “what if’s” stop you in life. What will be, will be. That’s not to said you mustn’t take precautions and listen to Foreign office or national security advice but don’t go to the extreme either. It’s sad to say, but unfortunately the world we live in, anything can happen, even in your local community.

Jamaica Jamaica

If you’re looking for a holiday destination and wanting somewhere outside of Europe, try Jamaica.

This Caribbean island is divided up into 14 Parishes, ranging from beautiful countrysides to built up towns, so there is something for everyone. Whether you want to relax on the golden sandy beaches, chill by the poolside bar, go zip lining through the Mystic Mountains or climbing Dunns River Falls, you’re sure to have a blast!

My recent trip without my kids, I stayed at The Jewel Dunns River Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios. A truly beautiful hotel for adults only. With picturesque grounds, the hotel is absolutely lovely. My hotel room a great size! The main bedroom has a four poster bed, balcony overlooking the pool and a jacuzzi bathroom. My room was made up every morning  with a turn down service every evening.

Jamaican Jerk

I love food, it actually makes me happy lol. When I think about eating I get excited, so staying at an all inclusive resort is perfect for me!

The Jewel has 3 A La Carte restaurants. Contemporary Caribbean, Moonlight Italian & a Japanese restaurant. All of which form part of your AI and you’re not limited to the amount of times you visit them either. It also has a main buffet restaurant where you can get breakfast, lunch & dinner.

If that’s not enough there is the ”Jerk hut” serving Jamaica’s famous jerk dishes, wraps, burgers, chips, salads, nachos & melted cheese and soup from 11am right through to 7am! So if you’re like me and want party you’ve got somewhere to eat when you’re strolling back in.

They also have an oven clay Pizzeria open till 8pm and their own cafe house if you’re looking for afternoon tea or a cappuccino.

Not to forget all the bars serving soft juices, cocktails, beers, wine and champagne. You’re truly spoilt for choice staying here!

In the Parish of St. Ann it’s right on the beach in Ocho Rios. It’s about an hour from both Kingston & Montego Bay airport so you could fly into either.

Being in Ocho it’s perfect for local attractions such as the Dolphin Cove, Mystic Mountain and Dunns River Falls. The town being a “stones throw” from the hotel has plenty of shops to visit and a local craft market perfect for buying souvenirs.

The title of this made me chuckle, I love it! Great blog thanks for sharing, your trip looks and sounds amazing I’m totally sold. We we’re thinking of going further a field this year especially with all the incidents in Europe just recently, so may have to take a look at the Jewel! x
