My first born, Sahura, has finished secondary education! I’m so proud of her growth and efforts over these past couple of years, particularly because I sent her to a school out of area where she had to make new friends. She has shown great strength in character which puts her at an advantage when facing future challenges.
This week she attended her end of school prom. The build up to this event was too much for me to bare, it was akin to a small wedding.
Having a daughter is a treasure, but they are so high maintenance especially during the teenage years. The planning of this event kept me up many nights looking at dresses, hair, nails and make up. The numerous meetings held in my bedroom discussing her vision and how I was going to make it come to life, no pressure!
I’m pretty laid back, but the expectation was huge. I knew it was going to cost a small fortune, but I was prepared to give her what she wanted to make her happy because she makes me happy.
3 trips to London, several make-up and hair trials, my daughter was transformed. We were both so happy and she had a great time at her prom! A great ending to those formative years. Here’s to the future of our daughters! 🥂🍾
